ENERGY
YOUR BEST YOU…
WITH THE ENERGY, ATTITUDE AND RESILIENCE OF A FOUR YEAR OLD ALMOST EVERY DAY!
What would it look like if you had the energy of a four year old almost every day?
Busy? Everyone is busy! Our world has become the world of the Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland: “Now here, you see, it takes all the running you can do to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that.”
Our modern workforce and lifestyle places many demands on our time and energy. Constant change, families and increasing expectations from ALL areas of work and life will either energise you OR drain the life out of you. So how do we focus our attention to ensure that we get what we truly want out of our profession and our life? How do we overcome the obstacles to genuine effectiveness and maximise our own individual input into our team and our families to ensure an effective relationship?
We will go through an educational and entertaining journey that will help you to build resilience and rediscover how to keep yourself focused and energised to do what really counts!
If you are interested in:

PERSONALITIES
HOW TO LIVE AND WORK WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT LIKE YOU!
Have you ever just met someone and clicked with them straight away?
People naturally like people that are like themselves. The reality is that we have to negotiate, manage, work and live with people that will prefer to energise, take in information, arrive at decisions and live in the world differently to us. The old adage suggests that we should treat people the way that we would want to be treated. That’s great if we meet people that are like us! So what do we do with the other 80% of people that are not like us?
This interactive session will enhance your ability to relate to ALL members of your team (and family!) and improve your understanding of what each team member can bring to the group in terms of different styles of thinking.

CHANGE
PERSONAL LEADERSHIP IN RAPIDLY CHANGING TIMES
Useful for Whole of Team or Business Application
Have you ever worked with someone who said…“I just can’t wait for this restructure to be over so things can go back to normal?”
We no longer live in a repeat world. The world we live in has become one of constant change. There are times when it appears we must be genuinely prepared for the abandonment of almost everything we know!
Every individual is faced with the challenge of equipping themselves to manage in this ever-changing environment. To be effective we must learn to live with the paradox that suggests… everything we enjoy as good in life has required change, however not all change is good.
If you are required to achieve greater results with dwindling resources, this informative and entertaining keynote presentation will cover some practical, easy to use strategies to get you moving again.
We all have a base set of skills that we use to deal with change. However, unless we actively seek to equip ourselves with practical new knowledge and skills, we too will go the way of the dinosaur.

- Developing a genuine understanding of the change process
- Providing practical ways to move quickly through change

GOING NEW PLACES WITH USED PEOPLE© – A MASTER CLASS IN LEADING CHANGE
Useful for Team Leaders Managers Executives
Have you ever worked with someone who said…“I just can’t wait for this change to be over so things can go back to normal?”
Leaders in any organisation recognise their role always involves improving the results of their business. The implementation of strategy will obviously mean that things have to change because maintenance of the status quo would mean no real improvement.
Our research indicates that there are a series of common mistakes made during the implementation of strategy. These mistakes are made not due to bad intention but rather a lack of understanding of how to effectively manage the emotional transitions required to ensure congruence and support of the new strategy, particularly when there is resistance to the new direction.
This workshop will cover practical, easy to use strategies to ensure that you and your team will quickly and easily move through from endings to new beginnings!
If you are interested in:
- Developing a genuine understanding of the change process
- Providing direction and practical tools for leaders in managing the emotional transition phase with their team and business
- Reducing the cost to your business by providing a catalyst for leaders and their teams to move quickly through the change process
LEADERSHIP
THE FOUR THINGS MODERN EFFECTIVE LEADERS DO AND THE EIGHT THINGS THEY DON’T!
You can’t just intention your way into it effective leadership. You actually have to behave your way into effective leadership and a result, a modern and effective workforce. The paradox is that there can be incredible incongruence between what we intend and how we behave. This ultimately means that the impact that we achieve in reality may be completely different to our stated intentions.
Quite simply, it is what we actually do (or not do) everyday that ultimately determines our effectiveness. What’s most interesting is that people readily recognise ineffective and effective behaviours in others. The challenge as always is in turning the mirror on us! What do we see that is ineffective and effective in how we lead and manage our teams?
We know that people generally leave Managers… NOT Jobs! They leave in pursuit of a modern and effective leadership that genuinely demonstrates four key behaviours in the completion of the task and in their interaction with people. They have usually left a combination of 8 behaviours that are collectively ineffective.
This interactive and thought provoking workshop will study 12 styles that individuals will use in varying degrees in their interactions with others and in completing tasks. Once understood, this framework provides us with a useful benchmark to compare our own current behaviours. From here we can target specific areas for improvement in our everyday situations.
THE ART OF HAVING THE DIFFICULT CONVERSATION!
“It is easy when it is easy” … when cooperation is obvious and proffered to us then we don’t need a whole lot of skill. Our needs and theirs are genuinely discussed and there is true sense that all parties are working toward the one common goal.
What if cooperation does not exist? What if there is genuine dissatisfaction about where the project, task or relationship is heading? Even the most experienced person can be challenged by this situation, particularly if it involves conflict over who is first in line for your time, energy and resources. The tendency then is to manage agreement instead of conflict. You avoid asking for what you need to avoid any further conflict.
As a result of this so many opportunities are lost when this type of conflict in opinion arises due to the fact that most of us were never taught what to do! As children, we developed a set of strategies that we continue to use in their “grown up” versions. Unless we make a conscious effort to discover other choices and hence, develop new skills in this area, under pressure we revert to already learnt behaviour that may not be achieving useful outcomes for others or ourselves.
This module is designed to assist individuals with the advanced interpersonal skills and coping strategies required to establish a win/win outcome when it is not so easy. Because we can tend to avoid conflict, our skill development in this area is sometimes limited. This workshop therefore is very practical in that it allows for the development of confidence and the practical application of the skills taught.
If you are interested in:
- Learning more about establishing a win/win outcome when it is not easy
- Welcoming conflict instead of avoiding it
- Developing your confidence and applying the right skills when delivering the difficult conversation
TEAMS
THE FAREWELL MORNING TEA – BUILDING BETTER BUSINESS RELATIONSHIPS!
I wonder if you have thought that work would be easy if it wasn’t for the people that you had to work with?
In my 30+ years of corporate life I have discovered that there is basically only one standard speech given at farewell morning teas. It just depends on if it is true or not.
The typical speech goes… “We are really going to miss Bruce… he is going to leave a huge hole in our department”…to which the private response of the masses could be either genuine agreement or “yes, we know what kind of hole…an ar?@#%le!”.
It’s not about intention either… it’s about behaviour. We can’t intention our way into being useful in a team. It’s what we do or don’t do everyday in every interaction that ultimately determines the real truth about what will be said at our farewell morning tea.
Obviously the ability of individuals to work in teams has never been more critical to the success of any endeavour. We risk the achievement of substantial productivity and financial gains if our team relationships are not effective. Our reputation with internal and external stakeholders is also effected by team relationship effectiveness.
This session will equip you with proven and practical strategies that provide a solid platform for relationships and enhance co-operation, particularly in times of dissatisfaction. This knowledge is useful at home and at work and if applied, will lead to effective and healthy relationships and improved organisational outcomes.

DOING THE UNNATURAL – HOW TO MAINTAIN THE BALANCE BETWEEN WORK AND LIFESTYLE!
Have you ever been stuck at work wishing that you were somewhere else?
Do you ever find yourself out of time to do the things that you really want to do?
And when you finally get the time, you don’t have the energy left to do it anyway?
The work is never done. Even if we stayed at work until midnight every night, five days a week for the next three months, there would still be work to do!
We then further frustrate ourselves by promising ourselves we will do what really matters next month when we are not so busy. The paradox is that we will be just as busy next month as we are this month!
So how do you make everything fit? The most common argument goes something like this; “In order to advance my career I have to be seen to be “putting-in”. However the trade-off is an immediate and longer-term impact on my lifestyle. So what’s the answer? “Work less, miss out? Work more, miss out?”
So how do we arrest the trend and recreate a healthy balance between work and lifestyle? You will learn a range of practical “how to” strategies that individuals can quickly and easily use and role model to recreate and maintain the balance between work and lifestyle.
If you are interested in:
- Being effective at work and at home
- Learning how to say no without compromising your relationships

LEADERSHIP IN EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT – HOW TO CREATE AN ENGAGED, SUSTAINABLE AND EFFECTIVE TEAM!
Does your organisational culture celebrate work life balance? Is there evidence that would prove that people’s lives outside of work are in anyway important to the organisation they serve?
Genuine employee engagement is the result of a complicated set of factors from meaningful, challenging work, suitable effective job design, to belonging and respect for the whole person. In a tight labour market, getting the mix right is obviously critical in attracting and retaining effective team members.
So how do you experiment with and satisfy the competing demands of individual, team and business? How do I do the Yoga class, see my family, do the study, produce the reports, serve the customers, relax, appease the shareholders etc?
This entertaining and challenging session will ask you to consider key aspects of the employee engagement dilemma. It asks us as managers to consider how an organisation and its leaders can behave to ensure employee engagement.
CUSTOMERS
WHY GOOD SERVICE ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH TO KEEP THEM COMING BACK FOR MORE!
Have you ever walked out of a business and thought to yourself “I am never going to back to that place EVER again in my entire life!”
Every year in Australia, business invests several billion dollars into advertising and marketing. The goals vary and may range from branding through to simply promoting a particular product or service and or why they should seek that product or service from their business. The motivations of course are genuinely aimed at ultimately improving the bottom line performance of their business.
In the majority of cases, this money has to be spent again next year in an effort to maintain or grow the branding or enquiry level for products and services. This it seems at one level like the definition of insanity… doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
Generating loyalty when we live in an age that might suggest that loyalty does not exist requires some major shifts in our thinking. Genuinely building relationships is hard work and unless we truly understand the cost implications of not doing so… nothing will change! For example, in looking after the client many businesses endeavour to provide great service in order to encourage the client to return. Research indicates that if they were merely “satisfied” with the outcome then just over 70% of them will still “shop with you” next time they are in the market for a similar product or service! That’s risky business!
